Make Your First Shopify Sale in 30 Days

Use this Marketing Checklist to get your first sale.

Getting your first real customer is a significant milestone for every ecommerce entrepreneur.

But sealing the deal on your first sale takes time and focus. With so many ways to promote your business, it can be hard to find the ones give your the most traffic bang for your conversion buck.

It's easy to fall into the trap of endlessly tweaking your store, but be careful, this is a mind trap that many entrepreneurs fall into. Just take the plunge and get started. Your store and products do not have to be perfect, instead invest your time into getting customers to your store.

Here are some great resources for traffic sources, some paid and unpaid, but all great ideas…

  • Post on Forums, Subreddits, Facebook Groups, etc.

  • Facebook Advertising (a cheap targeted way to adervertise)

  • Instagram Advertising

  • Pinterest Marketing

  • Google AdWords (can be a bit complicated and pricey)

  • Reach Out to Bloggers (get them to try your product and tell their readers about it)

  • Seek Out Strategic Partnerships (team up with others to get your product out there)

  • Work with a marketing agency (make sure the agency is a Shopify Expert)

  • Go Offline With Guerrilla Marketing (make flyers, posters, and signs, get the word out in your area through networking).

Choose 3 of these to advertising strategies to focus on over the next 30 days. Once the month is up, review the analytics in your shopify site. What keywords are working? What targeted audience has a higher click rate? Is there a marketing strategy that is working better? What isn't working. If one form of marketing is working well, put more time and resources into that medium. Consider making other connections
